MBS SERIES – RIGHT BOOM SYSTEM FOR AUSTRALIAN QUARRY & MINING.

Astec-BTI, introduces the new compact MBS series range of Stationary Rockbreaking Boom Systems. The MBS series is available in horizontal reach from 12-ft (3657mm) to 16-ft (4876mm) with boom weights (without hammer or HPU) from 1.1 to 3.6 ton. It is capable of carrying hammers with impact class of up to 4,100 Joule, making the system perfectly suited for the Australian quarry and small mining boom system market.

After a successful launch process the first of the Astec Australia Minerunner fleet is ready to get down and dirty and show what its made of. After an initial show and demonstration period the Minerunner will be available for field testing on site. National Product Manager John Williams suggests "This is where contractors and miners will really start to appreciate the value, having lifting more load while burning less fuel and costing nearly nothing to maintain". Williams mentions "we've got one more show Massmin 2016 in Sydney to attend in Early May and then she's put to work".

A field day is set down for Tuesday February 2nd 2016 at the Mount Cotton driving centre near Brisbane Queensland. National Product Manager John Williams says “The field day is the perfect opportunity to drive and look under the bonnet of the innovative underground All Purpose light vehicle.”

BTI have know reconfigured their well regarded pipe handling system onto their state of the art LP12 all Hydraulic Wheel Drive (HWD) platform. The LP12 HWD platform gives mine operators the following benefits;

  • Reduced fuel usage (upto 35%) from smaller vent rate through use of HWD.
